This is a tree up to 20-35 (-50) meters high and (-100 +) see dgg. The trunk is straight, round. Branches horizontal, often annular, developing in open pyramidal form. The bark is smooth, gray-brown, later becoming coarse and deeply cracked. The branches are long, thin, flexible and slightly drooping. Leaves stored 2–2.5 years, collected in bundles of 5 (rarely 4 or 6), very thin, drooping, 20–35 cm long, 0.6–1.1 mm wide, light green. Cones in groups of 3-4, light brown, in the first year, with a maturity of two years. Red-brown, (4 -) 5-10 (-12) × 4-8 cm in open condition. The cone is ripe in winter, it is filled with seeds and does not fall behind. Seed scales (100 -) 120–160, thin, flexible; The apophysis is flat. Seeds are dark brown, 4-6 × 3-4 mm, the wings are pale yellow-brown, 16-20 × 4-8 mm. Cotyledons 6-8


Growth Countries: Mexico: Sinaloa, Jalisco, Michoacán, Mexico, Hidalgo, Tlascala, Puebla, Veracruz, Guerrero, Oaxaca and Chiapas, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador and Nicaragua. Not a significant amount is also increasing in Panama. [3]
