1229 - End of VI Crusade: According to the peace agreement between the Sultan of Egypt al-Camil and the emperor of the Holy Roman Empires Frederick II Hohenstaufen, Jerusalem, Nazareth and Bethlehem transferred to the Crusaders in exchange for peace. 1496 - Jews expelled from Syria.

1965 - In the USSR, students of Taras Shevchenko University of Kyiv (67 in-patient students out of 125) wrote a statement to the leadership of the university and the Ministry of Education, demanding the resumption of the esteemed faculty of journalism by Matthias Mikhailovich, who accused of Ukrainian bourgeois nationalism. Among the organizers of the statement were Yuriy Parkhomenko, Yakim Palchyk, Mikhail Skoryk, Stanislav Usenko. The students were supported by Kyiv journalists and some teachers, including Ukrradio employee Viktor Polovenko with like-minded people. They also wrote a statement in support of Shestopal, which was addressed to the Central Committee of the CPU as graduates of the Faculty of Journalism. Students in the hall, in the classrooms protested. A few days later, Radio Svoboda broadcast information about the riots of journalism students at Kyiv University. Signers of the letter were pressed to take their signatures, all those who disagreed were then expelled from the university "for behavior not worthy of a Soviet student" - however, with the permission of employment. The students were expelled from the university, and the journalists were "worked out" in the committees. Of the several dozen of them, only three have withstood pressure: Viktor Polkovenko, Stepan Kolesnyk and Vladimir Tvorinsky.
