Water & amp; Sanitation for the urban ban

Water & amp; Sanitation for the Urban Poor “Water and Sanitation for the Urban Poor” or WSUP is a British nonprofit hybrid organization of public organizations and the private sector that has radically changed the traditional charitable model by developing commercially viable projects that provide access to water and sanitation for two million people in urban Five million consumers have significantly improved hygiene in the slums of developing countries in Asia and Africa. Using its technologies and investments, WSUP works with various municipal and private public utility companies in Bangladesh, India, Ghana, Kenya, Mozambique, Mali and Madagascar [2] [3] [4]
Often, private and communal water suppliers refuse to work in poor neighborhoods and informal shanty towns and shanty quarters of WSUP works closely with various suppliers, proving to them that by setting up new business models, they can make a profit and gain new consumers in these areas. WSUP also helps suppliers reduce the amount of water that they lose due to leaks or illegal taps in the pipeline. s This water can be sent to low-income communities, and the money saved can be used to expand the network [5] [6] [7]
History
In 2006, the organization was headed by former manager Sam Parker, who became the first CEO of WSUP His two first projects, improving water supply in Iringa and repairing collectors in the faunas of Rio de Janeiro, were financially bankrupt. In 2007, Borealis Vienna and Borouge Abu Dhabi joined the WSUP program with technical and expert knowledge. Following an invitation from experienced engineers and WSUP managers, since 2008, it has implemented successful projects in Bangalore, wastewater treatment and toilets in slums, Antananarivo transferring suburban residents from dirty wells to clean drinking water from the city and Kenyan Karagite, supplying clean water instead of fluoride-contaminated Soon WSUP received a large grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation [8] [5] [9]
In 2014, the WSUP received the Skoll Foundation Social Entrepreneurship Award [10] [11] After eight years at WSUP, Sam Parker led the Shell Foundation charity Royal Dutch Shell Management Fund [8]
