Holiday Valley is a census-designated place CDP in Clark County, Ohio, United States The population was 1,510 at the 2010 census It is part of the Springfield, Ohio Metropolitan Statistical Area

Geography

Holiday Valley is located in southwestern Clark County in the southwest part of Mad River Township It is bordered on the northeast by unincorporated Green Meadows and a small portion of the village of Enon, and on the south by Bath Township in Greene County Dayton Springfield Road forms the northwestern edge of the CDP, leading southwest 15 miles 24 km to downtown Dayton and northeast 10 miles 16 km to the center of Springfield

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 18 square miles 47 km2, all of it land

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there were 1,712 people, 562 households, and 458 families residing in the CDP The population density was 8254 people per square mile 3193/km² There were 588 housing units at an average density of 2835/sq mi 1097/km² The racial makeup of the CDP was 9568% White, 146% African American, 012% Native American, 082% Asian, 006% Pacific Islander, 058% from other races, and 129% from two or more races Hispanic or Latino of any race were 140% of the population

There were 562 households out of which 340% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 701% were married couples living together, 100% had a female householder with no husband present, and 185% were non-families 165% of all households were made up of individuals and 57% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older The average household size was 265 and the average family size was 296

In the CDP the population was spread out with 225% under the age of 18, 44% from 18 to 24, 255% from 25 to 44, 265% from 45 to 64, and 211% who were 65 years of age or older The median age was 43 years For every 100 females there were 883 males For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 818 males

The median income for a household in the CDP was $58,281, and the median income for a family was $63,464 Males had a median income of $46,923 versus $30,000 for females The per capita income for the CDP was $21,601 About 26% of families and 122% of the population were below the poverty line, including 83% of those under age 18 and 323% of those age 65 or over
