main provisions
name of the country changed to "Republic of Hungary" to simply "Hungary", although the odds and control remains republic [1] [2]. In particular, the change indicates a need for perception of the country without focusing on this part of it: foreign Hungarians recognized as equal in rights
Criticism
The new Hungarian Constitution states that the people of Hungary combined "God and Christianity.". For the state establishes the obligation to protect life, and stipulates that life begins at conception. In fact, this article of the constitution can be interpreted as a ban on abortion. Also, marriage in the new constitution is treated as a "union between a man and a woman", in connection with which the critics of the document believe that the Constitution creates the basis for discrimination against homosexuals and the inhabitants of the country who are not Christians [3].
15-17 April 2011 in Hungary held mass protests against the adoption of a new constitution. In this regard, the Government is taking steps to obtain international support (including religious organizations [4]) in favor of adopting the document.
Amendment 2013
In March 2013 Parliament approved a package of amendments to the constitution [5] which drew criticism both within the country and outside it [6].
